SARU presents significant landscapes an exploration of sound, silence and writing including a realisation of Michael Pisaro’s July Mountain; Givens 1-16 a work written specifically for the event by Stefan Thut; writing sound a symposium featuring contributions from Salome Voegelin from CRISAP, artist and writer David Stent, Composer Michael Pisarro (CalArts), cultural geographer Amy Cutler, writer Daniella Cascella, and artist Patrick Farmer; and eight hours of new works written for The Set Ensemble and James Saunders‘ ensemble Material.

5-8 November - Innen Raum 1-20 an installation by Stefan ThutRichard Hamilton Building, Oxford Brookes University.

7 November - Writing Sound The second in a series of annual events exploring sound and writing featuring contributions from Salome Voegelin from CRISAP, artist and writer David Stent, Composer Michael Pisarro (CalArts), cultural geographer Amy Cutler, writer Daniela Cascella, and artist Patrick Farmer; Richard Hamilton Building, Oxford Brookes University; 14.00-18.00; free admission.

9 November - performance of July Mountain by Michael Pisarro and Givens 1-16 by Stefan Thut; St.Columba’s Church, Oxford, 20.00; £5 on the door.

10 November - eight hours of new performance works featuring The Set Ensemble and Material; Holywell Music Room, Oxford; 14.00-22.00; £5 on the door - audience members are free to come and go as they please.
